Age in Place Wilmington, NC

In 2013, Chris’s father was initially diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS). Guillain-Barre syndrome is a rare neurological disorder in which the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks part of its peripheral nervous system—the network of nerves located outside of the brain and spinal cord. GBS can range from a very mild case with brief weakness to nearly devastating paralysis, leaving the person unable to breathe independently. The illness was later determined to be the more chronic form, Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP).

While helping care for his father, Chris realized the logistical, mental and physical challenges his family was facing caring for a loved one. Chris made the connection that his family’s current situation was no different than many other families. This was the beginning of a career helping those in need. Now, armed with the knowledge and his own personal experience, Chris could make a profound difference in the quality of life of not only those in need of in-home care, but the families too.

In 2014, as a result of first hand experience, Chris started an in-home care company in Wilmington, NC. By personally relating to families in need and providing customized, quality care, Chris has helped hundreds of seniors stay in home where they belong, and Age in Place. Understanding the family adversity that accompanies a sick family member has been the key component to his agency becoming the provider of choice.
